| Joseph Dolinsky is inspired by the connection between his subjects and their surounding spaces. His paintings withdraw from the physical space and dive into an energitic territory. Using mixed medias, such as latex, acrylic and oil paints, Joseph combines abstract painting with figurative work. The figures interact with the abstract terrain, causing the line between negative and positive space to be altered or erased.
The latex paint lends itself to the movement and the fluidity of the piece, allowing the objects to meld with the landscape of pigments. Joseph's work thus conveys the energy of fluid movement, finding unity within the intangible space.
Joseph has received his Bachelors in Fine Arts from The Art Institute of Boston. Now based out of Brooklyn, New York, he continues to work on paintings, sculptures and commissioned work. |
